Work VPN does not work with new Router (AX2700 Model: CAX30)

Hi Netgear Fam, 

 

Prior to getting this new modem router, I was using the Xfinity model and it worked perfectly with my work VPN (BIG-IP Edge Client - F5). Once I switched to this new modem, I've been having issues trying to connect my PC. Mind you, my PC is connected to the Modem via Ethernet. Now here is the confusing part, if I open up my work laptop, and use the wifi, I can connect to the VPN with no problem. Looks like the issue is when I'm connected via ethernet. 

 

Has anyone experienced this before? What is the workaround for this situation OR possible solution?

Are you sure your Ethernet cable is good?  Have you tried a different cable or different LAN port?

 

Are you using a Windows or iOS machine?  Usually the operating system drivers for Wi-Fi are different than the drivers for Ethernet ports.  Are the drivers for your Ethernet port up to date?

 

If you are using a Windows machine, open the network and internet settings and make sure your network profile is configured as  private.

Hi @Kitsap  - thank you so much for replying!

 

Are you sure your Ethernet cable is good?  It's a brand-new ethernet cable, and yes I have tried different ports. 

 

Are you using a Windows or iOS machine?  I'm using Windows 10 and yes, my ports are up to date. 

 

If you are using a Windows machine, open the network and internet settings and make sure your network profile is configured as private. Yes, confirming my network is private.

Please confirm you are talking about the OEM driver updates for your laptop Ethernet ports.

 

I have seen new out of the wrapper Ethernet patch cables be bad.  If you have something to exchange it with for testing that could be helpful.  Is your new Ethernet patch cable Cat 6 or better?

 

Do you have any other devices connected to your LAN that could be interfering with the routing function on your CAX30?  Such as switches, game stations, access points, etc.?

 

For testing purposes, do you have a means to isolate your LAN to just your CAX30 and your laptop connected via Ethernet?

 

Using the Ookla native Windows application, does the Ethernet throughput capacity to your laptop compare favorably to what you are purchasing from your ISP?

 

What version of firmware do you have installed on the router side of your CAX30?  A version number please, a response of "the latest" does not allow for confirmation and may be in error depending on how you made that determination.
