c7000v2 port 8883

Let me start off by saying I am not tech savvy at all. I purchased a new garage door opener (lift master) that has myQ technology. I can connect it to wifi and use an app to open and close the garage door. I cannot get it to connect to my wifi. When I contacted the support team, they said that my wifi does not have Port 8883 opened. They sent me a link but I do not know how to fix it. I logged into my router and did a TCU add for that port, but it still will not connect. I do not know what else I need to do. Anyone have any suggestions or have you had to do this before? I have a netgear c7000v2.

That is the information that lift master provided me. Thank you for your help!

   Is that your only router?

"it"?  Does that mean that you _can_ connect the opener to your
C7000v2, or only that you should be able to, or what?

"it"?  Because "can" and "cannot" are not consistent.  Is the problem
that the opener can't talk to your router, or that the opener can't talk
to Chamberlain's computer, or what?

"cannot" is not a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  It does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.

I don't know what that means.

That suggests that there's an LED on the opener.  With my weak
psychic powers, I can't see yours from here.

You don't need vast expertise to say what you're doing, and what
happens when you do it.
