cm500 modem connects to ethernet on computer but cannot connect through router
Hi, I just bought a CM500 modem to replace an outdated surfboard. I can connect if I use the ethernet port on my computer but when i try to connect to my router (and then connect the router to the ethernet port on my computer) I have no internet connection and the orange light blinks on the modem for the ethernet. Please help, I'm not overly computer savvy and this seems like I need a fix thats probably super easy. My router is a linksys E2500 and I have comcast. THANKS!

Hello chellesmeow
Have you tried to factory reset the router since you swapped out modems?

Hello chellesmeow
You may want to look up how to factory reset your linksys device.
