AC1200 R6220 randomly losing partial internet access

Please note: the device is AC1200 WiFi Cable Model Router model C6220 - for some reason the stupid form wont recognize it

my brand new wifi modem /router is behaving very strangely.

It will randomly lose the ability to connect to SOME internet sites for minutes at a time - This includes the actual router admin pages too.

For example, today, I could not access Netgear support, Toms Hardware OR 192.168.01,  but I can get to google, facebook and CNN all at the same time that this happpening. switching to 2.4 Ghz signal makes no difference

ALSO: when the wifi is 'dead' my ipad can connect to games and our wired connection is NOT affected - we can stream TV just fine.

After some time it starts working again.

firmware is: V1.01.26

Is it DNS related?  Any patterns with DNS lookups or failures?

I think think that may prove to be the case. Yesterday, it happened again and an attempt to access the router admin page opened the admin page for my switch, which it turns out was set for the same IP. I changed the IP on the switch and subsequently the issue has not re-occurred.
