Re: CAX80 not getting full speed
also wifi 6 ofdma works fine on my wifi 6 modem router from xfinity so it works. i went through 3 levels of tech support from netgear so they know its a problem with their firmware on wifi 6 mixed with comcast they are getting a firmware person to look into it and fix it. also my firmware is V1.1.0.41 and the cable firmware is V1.02.08.

Re: CAX80 not getting full speed
Hey All,
Please note when I was using C6300 modem/router I had 100 MBbps plan from xfinity; I was getting 110 Mbps down/5 Mbps up. That tells me its not issue with Xfinity end; problem must be with CAX80's firmware or bootfile cannot handle the Gig speed specs as Xfinity level 2 support suggested ... but I will let experts conclude on this ...
Note: I was on hold for Netgear level 2 today for a little over 2 hours while watching Cheech and Chong's "Up in Smoke " movie. Since no one picked up, after that to release my frustration I went out to mow the lawn after a glass of wine (ok, half a bottle) 🙂
Hope ya'll having a great sunday but here is my data, let me know if I can provide anything else.
Firmware Version V1.1.0.41

Re: CAX80 not getting full speed
Your downstream is 483Mhz. As seen with mine, it's over 700Mhz. I see near 900Mpbs with my CAX80 on the wire. This maybe one cause.
The CAX is well capable of handling 1Gb ISP services. If XF is telling you that from support, then they don't realize the CAX80 was tested by them and others on XF ISP services prior to going to market. XF would not have given approval for the CAX to operate on there services if it didn't.

Re: CAX80 not getting full speed
I recommend you reach out to netgear support and focus on Docsis 3.1/OFDM configurations for not achieving the advertised speed.

Re: CAX80 not getting full speed
I am having the same issue. Xfinity XB7 Gateway in bridge mode connected to RAX45. Paying for 600 Mbps service.
If I run the XB7 in router mode, I am getting 720 Mpbs down. Once I run the Xb7 in bridge mode and connect the RAX45, speed immediately drops to 280 Mpbs.
There is obviously a firmware issue in one of these two devices - I am guessing on the Xfinity Xb7 Gateway side, since it is so new, but I wish they would fix it already. Don't like being stuck between two giant tech corporations whose products aren't playing well together.

Re: CAX80 not getting full speed
Please post about this over in the RAX Forum for your model router:
This forum and thread is for the CAX80 which is a gateway modem/router.
Thank you.

Make contact with NG support if you haven't already. They should be able to help you out.

Re: CAX80 not getting full speed
Just spent 1.5 hours on the phone with Netgear support tech engineer, had me change wireless channels and do a reset, of course no luck. Claims there is no beta firmware to fix my issue. I'm at wits end with this. No one is willing to help!!

Ask about an RMA.
