CG3000D reset without me touching it
Information | |
Standard Specification Compliant | DOCSIS 3.0 |
Hardware Version | 1.04A |
Software Version | V5.5.4.mp2_CPR14c |
Mac OS X 10.11.6.
We just moved this weekend, and are using our cg3000d again. I'm on Cox internet, no TV. Sunday and Monday the router wouldn't connect to the internt (internet light was mostly off, but would occasionally blink). Monday evening it magically connected to the internet and was good all night. This morning, about 30 minutes ago, it seemed to reset because the wi-fi name went back to the default name and password. I logged into 192.168.0.1 and the login name and password were also back to default. The internet light was blank again so no connection to the internet.
I couldn't see anything obviously wrong, but I did change the maximum number of connections from 255 down to 15. Who needs 255 connections on a residential modem?? I also enabled NTP. Anyway, it connected to the internet, I changed the wifi name back to my custom name and changed the passwords, and it's been fine for 20 minutes. I have pasted the event log below. I don't think reducing the max number of connections fixed it, nor enabling NTP, but I don't really know.
Why would the modem reset without me touching it? Any recommendations on making this modem more stable?

Re: CG3000D reset without me touching it
Hello Auslegung
You may want to contact Netgear support if the modem keeps factory resetting itself could be a issue with the hardware. Also make sure nothing is jammed in the reset button on the back of the modem.
