CM 100v2 Firmware V1.01.03?
Spectrum Internet
CM 1000v2
My firmware:
Hardware Version: 2.02
Firmware Version V7.01.01
Speed: 940 (Gig service)
My speed:250 - 275 ping 12 consistant. Hardwired cat7. Cable speed to house is confirmed at over 1gig.
Just had spectrums senior business tech out. As of May spectrum no longer supports docsis 3.1 for their GIG service and have switched to docsis 3.2.
My question is: Would a Firmware upgrade to V1.01.03 support Docsis 3.2? Or am I S.O.L with my CM 1000v2?
Would really like to keep my Netgear equipment.
Thank you in advance.

Re: CM 100v2 Firmware V1.01.03?
That would be a HW upgrade. I didn't know DOCSIS 3.2 was out. Interesting.
I don't see anything regarding 3.2 listed:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DOCSIS
Next version is supposed to be 4.0...
Spectrum is one ISP that doesn't like upgrading user owned modems FYI.

Re: CM 100v2 Firmware V1.01.03?
@FURRYe38 is correct. It'd be a hardware change.
But there isn't a docsis 3.2.
the next generation docsis is 4.0
there isn't an intermediate step as far as I'm aware.
So not sure what the spectrum guy was telling you but I think they were just trying to get out of there.

Thanks for all the help. I appreciate it. Dealing with Spectrum has been like being interjected into a who's on first comedy skit for 4 months now. Again, thank you.

Re: CM 100v2 Firmware V1.01.03?
I thought I would update this as to help anyone who reads this. The tech that came out (In my original post) automatically had a new modem shipped to me (They didn't have any in stock). The shipping email states the new equipment is a D3.2 WIRED EMTA W/O BATT. When I get the equipment I will also reply with the specs. As posted above DOCSIS 3.2 is not out and I do not know what the "D3.2 WIRED EMTA W/O BATT" means or is referring to.

spectrums been using a docsis 3.1 with a 2.5gig interface lately.
Without a model number though its tough to say what they sent.

Re: CM 100v2 Firmware V1.01.03?
Final update. The Cable modem shipped is a DOCSIS 3.1 with a 2.5 GB port model 2241. It was a typo and the Tech also miss spoke. The new modem is programed?? for a much higher bandwidth 750000 and 12 channels. Apparently, anyone who has Gig service will be getting one. If not then you need to ask for one. Hooked up the new modem am getting 700 - 825 now. A huge note to help folks out. Disable your QOS in your router as well. The adaptive QOS (Asus 2900 u - Sorry netgear) hinders your connection. Again, thanks for the advice.
