CM1000 Modem Won't Connect to N900 Wireless Router
CM1000 works great connected to computer. But I cannot establish communication with Netgear wireless router N900. Are they compatable? If not, should i return cm1000 or replace N900, or buy an integrated system.
Frustrating. Looking for a quick solution to reduce monthly cost and finding that it may not be possible without spending big bucks.

Re: CM1000 Modem Won't Connect to N900 Wireless Router
A question and then something you can try.
1. What router model is it? N900 isnt the model. the model number and firmware help. Make sure your firmware on router is up to date. Its best to do over a hardwired connect and its best to reset afterward.
Try it like this.
1. Set the router and modem back to factory. Hold reset button on both for 7-10 seconds to reset them.
2. Once they're reset. shut them both off without having set them back up.
3. Plug the modem in and let it fully boot. Usually takes a couple minues.
4. Now plug in the router. Let if fully boot and go through your setup process for the router.
5. does it work? if not, can you log into the modem from the browser (with it connected to the router). Address should* be 192.168.100.1
*should, not is. Your isp could change the default ip address of the modem.
Any time you change out modems/routers, its always good to start back fresh. Not always needed but you'll get the best results that way.
