CM1100 and Nighthawk X10 (R9000) Compatability with Link Aggregation
The CM1100 modem has a link aggregation feature. So does the Nighthawk X10 (R9000) router. Will the link aggregation feature work with the R9000? Netgear only lists one router that it says is compatible, the Nighthawk AX8 8-Stream AX6000. From what I can see, the AX8 says it does WAN Link Aggregation using the Wan port and port 1 of the router, whereas the R9000 does link aggregation using port 1 and port 2 of the router. Does this mean the link aggregation on the R9000 can only be used for hardware like a NAS and has no way to uplink to the modem using the aggregated ports?

I believe R9000 LAG (Link Agg) is for LAN only and not WAN.
you may want to post in the router forum for final confirmed answer.

The R9000 only supports LAG on the LAN side. If you want to use the WAN LAG feature of the CM1100, you have to have a router that supports LAN on it's WAN side.
