Re: CM2000???

On xfinity, the cm1100 and the arris sb8200 both didn't allow more than 1 ip address (more than 1 router) to be used.

I think in business class they allow you to get multiple ip addresses.

Thats mostly how it's handled. My ISP doesn't seem to care here. Smiley Very Happy

Re: CM2000???

According to Cox Communications, Netgear's CM2000 Docsis 3.1 Cable Modem is approved for use on their Internet Service.  According to Netgear, the Nighthawk Multi-Gig Speed Cable Modem, Model CM2000, Netgear User's Manual was published and release to all major ISP's on or about January 23, 2020! However, Netgear is not showing this particular cable modem available for sale to the general public either on their website, through Amazon or any other reseller's websites. So, it brings up this interesting question? Is the Netgear Nighthawk Multi-Gig Speed Cable Modem, Model CM2000 only available for purchase through ISP's at a VERY HIGH PREMIUM PRICE ($$$.$$) and thusly, not available to the GENERAL PUBLIC as an up to date/latest and greatest Cable Modem?

I have downloaded and saved the Nighthawk Multi-Gig Speed Cable Modem, Model CM2000 Netgear User's Manual and Data Sheet as proof that this newest cable modem is available to the market!

Re: CM2000???

I'm not sure what saving the information will accomplish.  The CM2000 is apparently coming soon.  I was just trying to jump the gun a bit, but I'm sure it will be available in mid september or october by my guess.

Re: CM2000???

It's up to NG and marketing and legal teams to figure out when to make the offiical annoucenment for the general public. ISP may have put that on there sites for there users and there use. Hopefully NG will make it known as mentioned, soon. Keep an eye out at retailors too. Smiley Wink

Re: CM2000???

NETGEAR’s own description of the CM2000 modem contains two interesting “facts”….

  1. "Go beyond Gigabit speeds - set up Ethernet port aggregation with compatible Nighthawk WiFi 6 routers for Multi-Gig Internet speeds"
  2. "Four (4) Gigabit Ethernet ports" (see Tech Specs | Standards)

Surprising that the CM2000 supports port aggregation, and has four Ethernet ports?  🙂

Re: CM2000???

Is this available to be ordered yet? I just see "Join Waitlist" on the Netgear shop. When will CM2000 hit retailers?

Re: CM2000???

I think its like with the new mesh satellites, they go in and out of stock. Maybe with all the covid stuff going on, there's limited supplies.

Re: CM2000???

My CM2000 arrived today.  I have it installed (Xfinitiy is my ISP).  It's connected to an RAX200 via the multi-gig port. So far (today) I haven't been able to get speeds above 950 Megs on any speed tests run from the on-board router speed test or from any other computer connected to the router via wireless (where I have a 2.2 gig wireless link connetion).  When I was using port aggregation with an SB8200 I would get speed tests on the router and on wireless connected laptops above 1Gig (because Xfinity provisions 1.2 gig for the 1 gig plan).

Has anyone been able to get a spped test higer than 1 Gig out of this modem?

Did you test the CM2000 directly connected to the computer?
