Hi,
I recently purchased this modem from Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XH46MWW/r
The ping is terrible and I exhibit significant packet loss. Online gaming isn't possible.
I use http://ping-test.net/ to verify my issues.
Ping jumps to the the hundreds of milliseconds. Performance I tested connected directly to the modem, so it's not a router/wifi issue.. Comcast verified the connection was good from their end and I want to see if anyone has any suggestions before I call the tech or buy a different modem.
Thanks

Re: CM500-100NAS Bad Ping
Are you using the CM modem with your gaming device or is there a router in between the CM modem and your gaming device? If so, Mfr and model# of this router please.
Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem.
Be sure there are not coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.

Re: CM500-100NAS Bad Ping
Thank you Furrye38
The router is not the problem.

The results are very similar through wifi or direct to modem (I'm in San Francisco).
I do have a splitter and I just found out. Is that a problem? I will be verifying the cables are connected on it well later today.
Thanks

Re: CM500-100NAS Bad Ping
Thanks for your help. Comcast had a filter on the main line on the street that they removed. I have no idea why it was there to begin with.
That was the problem.
