Just picked up the R7900 Nighthawk x6 AC 3000 Tri_band wifi router and wondering if it is compatible with my current old ARRIS TM722G/CT modem. Or should I replace the old modem with a newer model?

There should be no compatibility issue. If the cable modem can deliver the Internet speeds that you are paying for, then there is no need to upgrade it.

Re: Compatibility question
you should ideally put the TM722G in BRIDGE MODE to avoid double NAT.

Re: Compatibility question
Not sure what NAT is but I whached a video on the steps to put in bridge mode. Since I purchased the new super fast router am I better off to purchase a newer updated cable modem that is more up to date. The modem I have was purchased in 2008 or 2009.
Thanks for your help.
