Connecting GS510TPP PoE Switch not using SFP Port
I got a great deal on a used PoE switch (Netgear Pro Safe GS510TPP) to network IP security cameras. Switch will be located in a closet and connected to home router via Cat6 approx 40 feet away. The switch has eight RJ45 and two SFP ports.
My question is: to connect the switch to home router, do I have to use one of the SFP ports with an ethernet transceiver, or can I just connect a Cat6 to one of the 8 RJ45 ports on the switch? The instructions are not very clear. Is there any benefit to using the SFP port over the RJ45 to connect?

Too fancy for me, but...

Used for optical fiber, not typical copper Ethernet.

That's what I'd do.

Which "The instructions"? Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in
your model number, and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual and
the Hardware Installation Guide (et al.). In the Hardware Installation
Guide, look for "Optional Step 6: Install SFP Transceiver Modules". I'd
guess that this part applies to you:
[...] If you do not want to install an SFP module, skip this
procedure.
