Connectivity Issues
I bought this modem/router last week. Ethernet is fine. WiFi disconnects me 4-6 times an hour, every hour. Happens on both 2.4ghz and 5ghz. Contacted my ISP -- the signal looks good and the modem isn't dropping packets. Contacted Netgear support, they were friendly and helpful. Per their suggestion I changed various settings (described below) but am still having issues. I'm about to return this modem/router and give up. I'm on FW v1.01.15. I have the same issue on my phone and old laptop, too.
go to 192.169.0.1
- under Basic > Wireless
- set WiFi 2.4ghz to channel 9
- set WiFi 5ghz to channel 36
- click apply
under Advanced > Advanced Setup > Wireless Settings
- set 2.4ghz Fragmentation to 2338
- set 2.4ghz CTS/RTS to 2339
- set 5ghz Fragmentation to 2338
- set 5ghz CTS/RTS to 2339
- click apply
under Advanced > Setup > Internet Setup
- click "Use These DNS Servers"
- set primary DNS to 4.2.2.2
- set secondary DNS to 4.2.2.1
- click apply
powercycle your modem/router
observe for 4-6 hours to see if your issue has been resolved

Re: Connectivity Issues
Returned this product and got a comparable Arris model. It's seeming to be better. I won't get a netgear in the future.
