Is there a way to disable the factory reset button? Unless the router is physically secure, any person (minor but smart family members) can reset the router and connect to the internet bypassing all security features programmed in the router.

Hello Desparate
Yes you can just turn off broadcast the SSID and on your devices you will have to use the manual connect option and enter the name of the SSID.

Short of cutting the wires on the reset button, the answer would be no. Another alternative is take away the minor's devices...

Or just remove/scratch the password info label from the box before first installation. Too late for me now but hope it is useful for others having a similar problem.
Thanks for the reply.

Couldn't cover the reset switch with thick piece of tape?

Re: Disable factory reset on Nighthawk C7000 modem/router
No tape will keep away the pest I have! I rewired the cables and moved the router to a different room out of sight. Let's see how long this would work since the location can be traced through the signal strength now. Is it possible to connect to a network without advertising it's name?
