DynDNS and DNS blocking with Netgear c7800
I am using a Netgear Nighthawk X4S C7800 with DynDNS and I'm unable to block websites with the domain name blocking feature in Netgear. Is it becuse I am using DYN DNS? I don't know how, since I am just unsing it as a forwarded as a way around a static IP, but.....I am unable to block a domain.
Help!!!

What are you doing?
What happens?
Why are you doing it?
Telling people what you want to achieve is usually better than coming up with your interpretation of what the answer might be.
If you need more help, you might get better and quicker replies, and find other answers, over in the appropriate section for your device:

Re: DynDNS and DNS blocking with Netgear c7800
What are you doing? Trying to block Youtube
What happens? Nothing
Why are you doing it? I am adding the domain I want to block (youtube) in the Security dropdown in Block SItes location. I have tried adding
youtube.com
*.youtube.com
youtube.com/*
*youtube*
And can still get to youtube. The only thing I could think is it could have something to do with DynDNS (don't know how), but that is why I can to this fourm.
Is this not the correct place to ask this kind of question? Is Netgear not capable of blocking a domain in this fassion?

I doubt it. DynDNS only deals with the association between some DNS
name and your router's (current) WAN/Internet IP address. Nothing to do
with any kind of access control.

I know nothing, but I suspect that that whole "Block Sites" scheme
might be defeated by the encryption which is implicit in "https://"
