MTA Status
I installed my cable modem, CM500V, after we lost power due to a tropical storm here in NJ. Everything works except my voice line/phones. I contacted my ISP, Optimum, with no luck. On their end, they said the phones are connected, however, I get no dial tone. Optimum has upgraded my issue to their "phone service dept." In the meantime, I ran the diagnostics on my modem and saw the following status:
Firmware Version
V1.01.09
Information
MTA Provision Status Rejected
MTA MAC Address 28:80:88:b9:25:99
MTA Telephony Line1 Status Disabled
MTA Telephony Line2 Status Disabled
MTA Line1 HD Audio Status Enabled
MTA Line2 HD Audio Status Enabled
Still waiting to hear back from Optimum phone service dept. Any suggestions in the meantime???
Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Re: MTA Status
I would relay this information to the ISP. They need to correct this problem.

Re: MTA Status
Thank you for your suggestion. I found out from Optimum that Netgear is not compatible with their voice services. I am returning the modem and I purchased one that is compatible (Arris).

Re: MTA Status
all the retail MTAs are only compatible with Xfinity/comcast.
Arris sells some devices on their website which are also sold in their channels.
