NOTICE: NETGEAR CM400, C3000v1, or C3700v1 cable modems

NETGEAR is aware of an Internet connectivity issue affecting some older cable products manufactured in 2014. This connectivity issue was not present prior to July 2022 and should not affect your device if you use Xfinity, Cox, or Spectrum as your cable Internet service provider (ISP). However, if you use a NETGEAR CM400, C3000v1, or C3700v1 with another ISP and it suddenly stopped working in July 2022, email cableservicenotice@netgear.com or call 1-866-203-9038.

Do not use this email address or phone number for general NETGEAR Support inquiries. The Support agents servicing this email and phone number are specifically trained for this cable product connectivity issue. If you need help with a different NETGEAR product, visit the NETGEAR Support site.

How can I tell if my CM400, C3000v1, or C3700v1 could be affected?

Check your device's serial number to see if it could be affected:

  • Serial number starts with 3KW, 3KX, or 3U4
  • Fifth character is the number 4
  • Sixth character is any number 1 through 7

For example, serial number 3KW245U10048D (3KW prefix, fifth character is 4, sixth character is 5) could be affected. Serial number 3KX15A7400031 (3KX prefix, fifth character is 5, sixth character is A) is not affected.

If you need help finding your NETGEAR cable product's serial number, see How do I find my NETGEAR home product’s serial number?

My device could be affected. What can I do?

Email cableservicenotice@netgear.com or call 1-866-203-9038 with your device's information.

We will evaluate your situation to confirm if your device is affected and discuss your options.
