Netgear CM1100 with Xfinity Gigabit - speed issue
Hi,
I have search the forum and found the exact same issue but was told to create my own thread. So here I am.
Situation: Runnning a CM1100 on a Xfinity Gigabit line, HW 2.02 / FW 2.01.02
I connect with a cable (yes I have switched cables already) to the modem directly. Speed tests show 200-400 G depending on the website I use.
Modem rebooted, resetted. Spoken to Xfinity but still at low speed.

Re: Netgear CM1100 with Xfinity Gigabit - speed issue
Thanks for creating your own post!
1. How many connections between your modem and where it enters the house?
2. splitters amplifiers in line?
3. Can you post a screen snip of your logs and your configuration page with upload/dowload signal strength/etc.
4. What device are you testing on? (specifics)
5. have you tried other devices?
6. have you ever gotten gigabit speeds on your connection?

Re: Netgear CM1100 with Xfinity Gigabit - speed issue
Ok - that worked. Sorry for the various posts.
1) No connections - cable goes directly to the modem.
2) No splitters or amps
3) see post above
4) Macbook Pro 2018 - Lenovo Laptop - Standard PC with Intel 8700 CPU and 32GB Ram, Samsung NVME
5) Only the three above
6) Yes, but not with this modem

pictures take a bit for a moderator to approve them. you can attach them as a link. What modems worked? How old is the CM1100?

Re: Netgear CM1100 with Xfinity Gigabit - speed issue
Photo's still haven't been approved so can't help you with those right now. Couple things you could try.
1. What website are you using for testing? I recommend trying speedtest.xfinity.com or speedtest.googlefiber.net
2. Could be a bad modem. This does happen. Couple options here since its brand new.
a. Return it for a replacement.
b. open a support ticket with netgear. You're within your 90 days of free support.
3. Could still be an issue with your ISP. They've sent out the wrong provisioning before. I'd try contacting them to have them reprovision it for gigabit. Sometimes it takes that 2nd or 3rd operator to get the right file sent.

Re: Netgear CM1100 with Xfinity Gigabit - speed issue
Hi,
1) I test on speedtest.net or xfinity.speedtest.com
2) Got a second modem yesterday - same result
3) Re-provisioned various times. Not talking about 2-3 more like 10.
