Greetings,
Wanted to share my C7800 5 GHz issue and hopefully it helps others. Purchased a new Nighthawk C7800, the 2.4 GHz worked perfectly fine but was unable to connect to the 5 GHz band. I kept receiving "Incorrect/Wrong Password."
I checked my password a million times and it was correct, even changed the password several times and no matter what I kept receiving "Incorrect/Wrong Password" when I would try to connect to the 5 GHz band.
I spent about 3-hours on the phone with NetGear over 3 different phone calls. The first 2-phone calls were useless and we just went around and around not fixing anything and they had me checking the most basic crap, I actually knew significantly more them them.
After Google searches I found other people were having the same problem but no real solutions other than returning the Router/Modem for a new one. I was getting ready to return it for a different brand but then called Tech Support for a 3rd time and at first I thought it was going to be a waste of time, the Tech Rep sounded like a 12-year Old Asian girl but wow in the end she fixed it.
She had me perform the following simple solution.
1) Open http://routerlogin.net
2) Remove security key from 5 GHz.
3) Apply settings.
4) Modem/Router will restart its self.
5) Connect to 5 GHz band with no password.
6) Return to Router Login.
7) Turn security key back on.
It worked. I am now connected to 5 GHz with no issues. I have connected, disconnected, restarted my laptop, still connected just fine. So hopefully if your having the same issue this helps. I'm sure this applies to 2.4 GHz if your having a similar issue.

Glad you got it working thank you for letting us know. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.
