R7800 not recognizing external hard drive plugged in via USB
Hey Everyone,
Title pretty much says it all. I have a 3.5 Western Digitial Red NAS drive that is 4TB plugged into an amazon external hard drive enclosure trying to get my router to recognize it.
Odd thing is that I was able to pull this hard drive into my mac, format the drive and copy over files no probelm. I plug it into the second USB connection on the router and readyshare doesn't seem to recognize it.
I did this with a previous hard drive that was the same set up and it worked fine but now with this one it's not working.
Not sure if there is a way to troubleshoot this or if there is a specific disk format I need to use on my mac Disk Utility app?
Thanks,
Dza

Re: R7800 not recognizing external hard drive plugged in via USB
What format did you use on the drive? I think NTFS and FAT32 or EXT are ones that are supported by NG. Check the manual.
Does the external drive enclosure have it's own power supply?

Re: R7800 not recognizing external hard drive plugged in via USB
I think I selected the first option on Disk Utility on my Mac which was the APFS.
The enclosure has it's own power source.

Re: R7800 not recognizing external hard drive plugged in via USB
THanks I realized that the drive has been formatted on my mac with a format that doesn't work with the router. I've tried to format the drive to a EXT4 format which should work. Wish me luck!
