ReadyNAS 424 Adding Disks to Existing Volume

Hey Everyone!

Quick question -- maybe it's simple, but I want to make sure I'm understanding X-RAID correctly:

I currently have a RN424 with 2x8TB.

I also have 2x4TB each with data that is being copied to the NAS.  Once this copy is done, I'd like to integrate the 2x4TB into the current RAID.

If I add these two disks, can the current volume be expanded without reformatting the 2x8TB (containing the precious data copied from the 2x4TBs)?

Just want to double check before I do something potentially risky. Thank you so much for your help!

All the Best,

Jordan

Good Luck.

Did you notice that his other post, which first appeared here, too,
got moved to the right place without your "help"?  Want to know how?  It
was easy: A simple message to the moderators ("ReadyNAS"), using "Report
Inappropriate Content".

No senseless quotation of the whole message.

      No duplicate postings.

      No wasted space.

No pointless and unhelpful "My Setup [...]" garbage.

      No annoying animated icon.

You really should try it some time.  Or is providing actual help not
what you're trying to achieve?  I wonder what is.

I didn't notice the post was moved. Not sure about that other stuff. Thanks though.

   Call me sneaky.

Not your problem.  Some of the folks around here post strange stuff
for mysterious reasons, and seem to be impervious to suggestions for
improvement.
