ReadyShare Vault
Good evening. I am running a C6300 cable modem/router, updated firmware, with 2 Windows 10 computers. I am trying to access a ReadyShare Vault device: a WD 4TB MyBook with USB 3.0. I was able to access the drive after reformatting from exFAT to NTFS, and I can move files from both computers to the drive. But I'm unable to run a backup from either computer using the ReadyShare Vault software. It creates the destination folder on the drive, then gives a "When you connect your drive" error message and goes no further. The same is true for both computers. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the software to no avail. Any thoughts are much appreciated!
Also, is Genie technically required for ReadyShare vault to work? Or is it just a nice-to-have way of troubeshooting and network mapping?
