Unable to update firmware
I receivbed an email telling me I needed to update the firmware
I have tried everything possible to update the firmware to V1.0.0.062 from V1.0.0.034. I keep getting the message saying it "Failed to Upload Firmware."
I eeven tried to load intermediate upgrades first with no luck. It told me that there was a newer version.
I also allowed it to "look for" the correct software on the website, but it just churned away with no apparent result.

The firmware on what? You've posted this information-free complaint
in a "Cable Modems & Routers" forum, and the firmware on a cable-TV
modem(+router) is under control of the ISP, not the end user. You might
start by disclosing the actual model number of your device, whatever it
is.

That conveys no useful information, and almost certainly isn't true.

When you do what, exactly?
"Frustrating waste of time."? Try to imagine what it's like for
anyone who might want to help, based on no useful information.

Re: Unable to update firmware
Thanks for the snarky reply. I'm the one that wasted two hours trying to upgrade the firmware. What's your excuse?
FYI, I typed all the model information in the space on the forum form for "Model." It didn't show up. It is a wireless router: N300 WNR2000V5.
An email regarding firmware upgrade was sent to everyone that registered their hardware. Not everyone is a techie that hangs out in forum chat rooms. Therefore, it seems like performing an upgrade should be easier and more intuitive.
I own the modem (Arris SURFboard SB6121) and router (two separate devices). The ISP is Comcast. I got the "Failed to Upload Firmware" message when I manually downloaded the software (xip file) from Netgear's website, directed the upgrade site to the .img file on my desktop, and hit "Upload."

You posted this in a "Cable Modems & Routers" forum. Over in a more
appropriate forum, there seem to be other, similar reports (so far
unresolved?). For example:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/1449145
It may be a trend.
