Wired Access Point

In my home I have a Spectrum Router in one end of the house.  My computer is located in the other end of the house and is hardwired  to the router.  In this far end of the house the Wi-Fi signal is weak which affects my iPhone and Roku devices when I am in this part of the house.  Since there is a CAT5 cable in this far end of the house I have been advised to get a wired access point with an extra ethernet port to improve the Wi-Fi signal in this end of the house and also allow me to plug my desktop computer in and continue the wired connection.

Can you recommend a Net gear Product?

That sounds like reasonable advice, but it's generally called a
"wireless access point" because it provides wireless access, even though
it's connected to the router by a wire.

Purpose-built wireless access points exist, but practically any
wireless router can be configured as a wireless access point (although
it's easier to do with some than with others).  Various vendors also
offer "wireless extenders" which might be cheaper, and can be used as
wireless access points, but some of these have only one Ethernet port,
so it would be consumed by the cable to the router, leaving none at the
remote end.

For an example, visit http://netgear.com/support , put in "R7000" as
the model number, and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.
Look for "Use the Router as a Wireless Access Point".

I wouldn't, without a much better idea of requirements and
constraints.  If I were in that situation, the I'd check my friends'
basements, garage sales, or local thrift stores for incredible bargains
on old wireless routers, and, if I could find one, I'd try to configure
it as a WAP, and see if it improves anything.  Then, if it has
deficiencies, I'd do some more serious shopping.
