My router modem disconnects several times a day,then it says authentication error if I log in to my wifi,If I unplug power after 30mins to hours It will automaticly connect again sometimes it works mkst kf the time it doesnt even if im connected.pls help

do all devices drop? Just wireless devices? Do wired devices still work?Do you have a screen snip of the cable connections page and the event logs? yes all the wireless drop,for the wired I am not sure bec.we dont have any.Im sorry im not a very tech savy,I dont know how to check the event log but i will find it,is that in the net genie?or router login? im considering buying a new 1 in costco,netgear try to charge me $49+ for 1 time help,it cost 150 in costco foe a new one.

Its pointless to buy a new modem if its a line issue. Also, check the coax line for bad/old/loose connection, kinks in the coax, extended runs. remove any splitters, amplifiers, or attenuators in line. I usually recommend moving the modem to right where the coax comes into the home to prevent the issue from being the wiring in the home.

thank you for the help, will get the information once Im home, I called netgear last night and mentioned about channel not being stable and mac address somethin like that but will not continue until I pay. Connection is still on and off,the modem will blink 2.4ghz and 5ghz then will stop
