subscribed to Mediacom for 200 Mb service (200 download and 20 upload)
I work from home so I need a stable connection.
Last Friday my upload basically quit with the download stayed at about 200 Mb.
Monday my upload speeds came back but are 'bouncing' between 20 Mb and 2 Mb.
Service man just left, commented that my siginal levels were the 'best' he's ever seen.
Therefore, it must be my equipment?
1 year old CM700
1 year old Orbi
I asked him really? He said that with a siginal like your's that's all I can think of?
any ideas?
How does one know if their modem or router is bad?
Thanks,

Re: cm700 and slow upload speeds
Connect a wired PC to the back of the modem. Power OFF the modem for 30 seconds, then back On. Speed test with the wired PC to check speeds.

Re: cm700 and slow upload speeds
So today during my lunch hour I connected my laptop to the CM700 modem and ran the testmynet with 5 minute intervals. Upload was very consistant at ~28Mb, almost a straightline.
So I'm back to Modem to Orbi and Orbi to (1) work VPN (2) switch and (3) MOCA Dongal. We'll see how the afternoon goes.
Thanks,

Re: cm700 and slow upload speeds
Jan 17, 2020 I connected my laptop directly to the CM700 last night and ran the testmynet test on 5 minute increments. THis morning, the upload speeds were all very consistent at ~20 to 25 Mb all thru the night. Yet, when I connect my Orby RBR50 and RBS50, my wireless upoad speeds randomly drop out?
THanks,

Re: cm700 and slow upload speeds
Sounds like a problem with the Orbi.
I would post about this over in the Orbi AC forum:

Good Luck.

Re: cm700 and slow upload speeds
Thanks,
The automatic firmware update stated that the firmware was up to date.
I just did a manual update to 2.5.1.8
appears to be running quite well at the moment. I'll what the day brings.

Re: cm700 and slow upload speeds
Try a factory reset on the Orbi system and setup from scratch.
Good Luck.

Re: cm700 and slow upload speeds
So it was the Orbi or what did you install?

Re: cm700 and slow upload speeds
Ask for an RMA on the Orbi. Probable faulty system.
v2.5.1.8 FW for the 50 series is good.
Good Luck.
