DC112A setting attached device names doesn't stick
Meaningful device names can be set for each device under Access Control by editing & applying for each device entry manually.
However after logging out & in again later the previously set names in the Access Control currently attached devices list have defaulted back to their giberish values. E.g. "Johns Tablet" has remorphed itself back to "android-123456789abcdefg".
Only in the Access Control list of "devices not currently in the network" do the meaningful names remain. However once these devices connect and when checked later they have also defaulted back to their giberish values.
When some of the the defaulted giberish device names are reselected for edit to re-eneter the desired name, in the Edit Device Name screen that comes up the name box magically appears pre-populated with the previously dropped meaningful name associated with that MAC address. So it's not entirely forgotten, just gets buried and lost somewhere. The lost name will show up prepopulated on re-edit regardless of the access device used so it's definitely an inconsistency within the code of the DC112A itself.
Also when the Device Names are set & if they happen to be subsequently showing on the "Access Contol" screen they are often not properly reflected on the "Attached Devices" screen.
Firmware is the latest V1.0.0.32_1.0.60

Hi Wombo24,
Have you tried doing a factory reset on the device? If not, please proceed and update me with the outcome. :]

Re: DC112A setting attached device names doesn't stick
Hi Jason,
The inconsistent behaviour remains the same after factory reset.
Thanks,
John
