Insecure connection password warning in Firefox

When logging on to the Netgear page ie. Admin password leading to (Dashboard, settings etc) I have been getting the Insecure connection warning from Firefox for years and now with the increasing concern with security would like to find out if I need to be concerned. I apparently have had no security issues over the years. Could someone give some advice re this warning?

Re: Insecure connection password warning in Firefox

Hi,thanks for reply michaelkenward.I could have mentioned my mobile hot spot is a Night hawk MR 2100. I reckon you nailed it. True I am only logging on to a device about 2 feet from my laptop, not something on the wider net and the threat is non existant.I agree browsers and other sites are getting picky , just the other day I tangled with  Microsoft passwords was getting my head done in when I decided to give it a miss. Thanks again, your's etc, Rishard

Firefox, like most browsers, is getting more and more picky about security. In this case, it probably doesn't like the http address that you get with http://routerlogin.com/start.htm.

Browsers prefers https. But you are connecting to a local device in your own network.

Most browsers have an extra link that let's you through this barrier. You just have to tell it that you accept the (non existent) risks.

There may be a setting somewhere in Firefox that lets you add the graphical user interface (GUI) to its accepted sites. I haven't seen a Firefox warning in quite some time.

Just another user with time on their hands.
