Dumb question but buggered if I can find a reference to the M6 hotspot screen icons and their meanings in the manual or on the web. My M6 suddenly started displaying a red triangle with an exclamati...

Have you tried accessing the webGUI and see if the error appears? Might also help if you take a pic to the actual LCD display next you see this message and post here. that will help other be aware of this mysterious error message. I would also assume you have it on the latest FW?

I always use the browser based admin as the device LED is way to small to display meaningful data for my poor old eyesight. No errors are listed except "Data usage unavailable" but unneeded so I ignore it. Other then that everything else is as I set it up and no errors reported.
Initially I was interested in the icon meaning and am now more surprised the Netgear don't list the icons on their support page or in any available manuals. I just think that is an oversight on their part.
Thanks for your input on this.

I just downloaded the user manual this morning and sat down to read it; so glad I did a quick online search first and found your post! I hadn't imagined this symbol wouldn't be mentioned in the user manual. Mine did this yesterday, after having mysteriously turned off at the end of the day due to low battery (it was plugged in). Seems to be OK now and the symbol has gone. Overheating possible I guess, it was only my second day using it 8 hours straight for work. Until now I had only used it for 4 hours max at a time.

G'Day,
My M6 is still displaying the icon 3months later. I doesn't seem to affect the usage. My M6 is basically on 24/7 and continues to do what it is suppose to. As stated before it is plugged into mains power and battery has been removed. Back cover is of and i have it suspended above the desk to allow good airflow. Diagnostics says it is currently 57C which is ok for an electronic device. So it seems to be an irrelevant warning. BUT nice of Netgear to document it or even respond to a question on it.
Good luck with your M6
cheers
