Re: MR6150 5G CONNECT TELCEL

It appears that a firmware update caused your modem to connect to 4G+ instead of 5G. Contact Telcel's support for assistance, or check for firmware updates and settings to resolve the issue.

Re: MR6150 5G CONNECT TELCEL

If your modem initially connected to Telcel's 5G network but after a firmware update, it now only connects to 4G+, there are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

  1. Check Network Settings:

    • Ensure that your modem's network settings are correctly configured to enable 5G connectivity. Sometimes, updates may reset network preferences.
    • Check for any specific 5G-related settings in the modem's configuration interface.
  2. Restart the Modem:

    • Power cycle or restart the modem. Sometimes, a simple restart can resolve connectivity issues.
  3. Check for Additional Firmware Updates:

    • Verify if there are any new firmware updates available for your modem. Manufacturers regularly release updates to address bugs and improve performance.
  4. Network Coverage:

    • Confirm that you are in an area with 5G coverage from Telcel. 5G networks may not be available everywhere, so check Telcel's coverage maps to ensure that you are in a 5G-covered area.
  5. SIM Card Compatibility:

    • Ensure that your SIM card is 5G-compatible. Some older SIM cards may not support 5G connectivity. You may need to contact Telcel to obtain a compatible SIM card.
  6. APN Settings:

    • Check if the Access Point Name (APN) settings on your modem are configured correctly for Telcel's 5G network. Incorrect APN settings can impact network connectivity.
  7. Factory Reset:

    • Consider performing a factory reset on your modem. This will restore the modem to its default settings. Note that this will erase any custom settings, so make sure to have the necessary information before proceeding.
  8. Contact Telcel Support:

    • Reach out to Telcel's customer support for assistance. They can provide specific information about network updates, compatibility, and any known issues with the firmware version you're using.
  9. Modem Manufacturer Support:

    • If the issue persists, contact the manufacturer's support for your modem. They may have additional insights, troubleshooting steps, or firmware updates that can address the problem.
  10. Network Mode Settings:

    • Check the modem's network mode settings. Ensure that it is set to automatically select the network mode, allowing it to switch between 4G and 5G based on availability.

Always ensure that you have a backup of any important data or settings before performing actions like a factory reset. If the issue continues, it's advisable to seek assistance from Telcel or the modem manufacturer to ensure proper troubleshooting and resolution.
