MR6500 unstable WiFi and signal drops
I've started using this hotspot in an always-on remote application. After a week or so, the unit fails to attach new Wi-Fi devices and has very poor or no Internet access. Rebooting fixes everything, but in a remote application like this is not acceptable.
I have seen in other posts that there is a firmware update that is not available OTA from ATT. (I am an ATT user). Can you provide me with a firmware update for this unit?

Re: MR6500 unstable WiFi and signal drops
Until att releases the updates they are not available... I would suggest moving hotspot to a better signal and trying to update the firmware then...

Re: MR6500 unstable WiFi and signal drops
JBish, I appreciate your help. (1) If you search this community for this issue you will see many posts requesting a json config file so Netgear can provide the right update file. (2) I have the external antenna and getting excellent signal strength.

Re: MR6500 unstable WiFi and signal drops
the hotspot is 24/7 powered?
Do you have the battery removed?
Have you set the wifi to high powered mode?
Tried setting it up as passthrough and connect a dedicated router to it?

Re: MR6500 unstable WiFi and signal drops
What that means usually is they look at logs to try to determine what is causing it and if it's firmware related, it will be fixed in an ota, not that you will get a file to flash.

Re: MR6500 unstable WiFi and signal drops
24/7: yes
Battery removed: yes
Wifi to high power mode: yes
Pass through router: not yet. I'll try that
