Netgear 781S AT&T Unite Pro - NAT
Love the 781S but the only thing is the NAT is set to strict on my Xbox. Spent hours searching the web and with Tech support from AT&T. Tried the DMZ, Port Forwarding, Upnp but nothing works.
Finally, AT&T told me it is the actual device that sets the NAT and can't be changed. Is this true? Is there a way to get the NAT open?
I noticed one of the features of this device was a NAT firewall. Is this causing the issue?
If the device is unlocked is there a way to tweak settings to open up the NAT or some hidden menu?

Re: Netgear 781S AT&T Unite Pro - NAT
I've had the same problem and spent the last month researching it. The reason you have a strict NAT is due to how AT&T assigns the ip of the hotspot. Devices on At&t block incoming traffic. You can notice this by goggling "What is my IP" and you'll probably see your ip is 166.xxx.xxx.xxx but if you go the Unite Pro's about page, you'll see the Wan IP is 10.xxx.xxx.xxx.
The only solution is to get at&t to provide you with a static ip, which is only available if you have a business account. They REFUSED to set me up even though I'm willing to pay the $500 set up fee and the $3 a month extra. You might can convince them but if you want more info you can read about it here:
https://www.wireless.att.com/businesscenter/solutions/connectivity/ip-addressing.jsp
There's information there about a dynamic public ip but mentioning that to the business line went with "huh?" responses. You can try and see how far it goes by calling 866-429-7222
An alternative to all that annoying run around is to get Verizon LTE Installed. It's a 2 year contract I believe, but that service does not block incoming traffic. Unfortunately Verizon won't offer me this even though LTE is where I live, so I'm stuck with no other choices by satelight.
