Re: Netgear 810 update
Web management 4G+ icon now visible all the time which is good. Upload speed fixed. When LTE ALL selected, APN changes between public or private seem to work correctly. Device startup time is faster. Main concern is that new USB connectivity issue seems to be true. After AC810 firmware update, Dovado PRO AC router and Netgear Aircard Smart Cradle do not detect AC810 correctly anymore. I have already posted some data to various experts to be analyzed.

Zyxel Keenetic Giga 3 also does not see the AC810 after the firmware update.

Re: Netgear 810 update
Updated. Noticed that
- New firmware supports USB tethering on macOS. It appears as 'Aircard 810s' interface.
- Upload speed is on par with modern phones, previously it was significantly slower.
- Download speed in B7+B7 mode also seems improved, the result depends on location.
Great improvements!
Thank you!

Re: Netgear 810 update
Hi,
fixed that sucker.
Linux has a weird selection strategy if an USB device has more configurations.
AC 810S has 3 different configurations after the new firmware update and this confuses all Linux based devices.
Steps for Linux:
Connect your Aircard.
Then look at the dmesg output.
> dmesg
usb 4-1: new SuperSpeed USB device number 2 using xhci_hcd
Then look at the possible configs in:
/sys/bus/usb/devices/4-1
Here we see that the bConfigurationValue is 1. 3 is for the CDC Ether device.
Hence, issue the following command:
echo 3 >/sys/bus/usb/devices/4-1/bConfigurationValue
And voila, we have the CDC interface.
dmesg output:
cdc_ether 4-1:3.0 eth3: register 'cdc_ether' at usb-0000:00:0c.0-1, CDC Ethernet Device, 00:a0:c6:00:00:00
Then proceed with standard procedures for CDC Ethernet devices.
Kind regards,
Uebernerd

Re: Netgear 810 update
Hello All,
today I have made the Update on the AC810S on the Firmware Version NTG9X40C_11.14.08.18 (Date 2017/03/09).
Befor the Update run, my AC810S on the Zain Air Cradle has a valid Internet Comnnect (to forward Internet to the LAN Ports - after the Update the Air Cradle has no longer Internet Access....and when you plug on the AC810 it is still in not connected Mode and not turns to the former shown "Device Connected on Cradle"-Mode.
What to do to fix this issue ????
Thanks for Support

Re: Netgear 810 update
Hi,
Netgear has confirmed and identified the root cause of the issue affecting interoperability with the DC112A cradle and which is likely causing the reported problems with other 3rd party routers.
The root cause of the issue is related to a change made to the AC810's USB driver descriptors to resolve some compatibility issues in newer versions of Windows.
Given the cradle and router interoperability issues this change has caused, we have decided to remove the change in the short term and repost a new AC810 firmware package.
The current update package has been removed from the update server and a new package will be posted as quickly as possible.
Longer term, we will look at how best to re-introduce the USB driver change while minimizing impact to the cradle and other routers.
Thanks for your patience as we work to resolve this matter.

Re: Netgear 810 update
Greetings to all,
Following the update time-stamped March 9, 2017, I recently have noticed my Netgear AC810S restarting, it seems nothing has changed since the update time-stamped Feb 23, 2016. I am wild-guessing why such an annoying issue is still available.
Hope next time your staff repair.
TIA.

Re: Netgear 810 update
I can confirm AC810-100EUS (NTG9X40C_11.14.08.19) with DC112A-100EUS (V1.0.0.18_1.0.60) work very well together.

Generally speaking, I think AC810 is not intended to use without battery.

Re: Netgear 810 update
I have too noticed a problem before and after update what comes to USB3 connectivity between AC810 and PC (windows 7, 10 64-bit) RNDIS driver. It keeps detecting device and connection over and over again, device connected/disconnected beeping sound heard continuously. Because it seems AC810 achieves its best performance when using direct USB3 cable connection, development team should investigate what is behind this problem.
