Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for "Port
Forwarding".
When I did that for a "MR1100 - Nighthawk M1 Mobile Router", I found
a section which describes how to do it. Is that User Manual wrong, or
is your model/firmware different, or what?
"Can[']t" is not a useful problem description. It does not
say what you did. It does not say what happened when you did it. As
usual, showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results
(error messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
descriptions or interpretations.
Note: "cant" is a word, different from "can't".

My bad also didnt know there was a difference. I have read the user guide on how to port forward but my issue is that I put in the ports but it just doesnt work and my nat is always strict 3.

Regarding "doesn[']t work", see "Can[']t [...]", above.
What are you doing as a test? What, exactly, "doesn[']t work"?
What, exactly did you "put in" where? What are your actual
port-forwarding rules? Copy+paste is your friend.

Which part of "actual" was unclear?
What is the WAN/Internet address of your router? Is it a public
address? What is the LAN IP address of your server?
Why are you doing this? What is the actual problem which you are
trying to solve?

Re: Netgear Nighthawk M1 cant port forward at all.
the tests was a minecraft server and opening ports to fix the nat problem. what doesnt work is that no one can join my games or i cant join them and the nat is 3. what i put in for a minecraft server was
Rule name: M
IP Address:192.168.1.27
Port:25565
Protocol:TCP
i have no clue what WAN/internet address is for the router.
why im doing this is because any game i play i have a nat type of 3 so i cant join anyone on most games or start my own servers.
