Nighthawk M2 MR2100 (Advanced Settings Missing)
How do I access the advanced functions within the new M2 MR2100 device. The standard login does not give me access to setup 'advanced' options as described in the manual such as port forwarding etc. ...

I’m also still waiting.
Contacted support and that didn’t help either.
It’s a great device but without basic functionality control it’s just a paper weight for me.

It will be released in an upcoming firmware update - there were some issues with it previously.

Hi All,
This has been brought up already to engineers. This will be fixed on the next firmware release.

Hi Blanca,
Any idea when this new firmware will be available???
My product support will have ran out by the time this one problem has been recified - And I am still to get a reponse from my ticket reply a few weeks back. Hopeless so far.
Devices are also blocked from talking to each other between network types which is a PITA, and no way to override at the moment either.

I am fairly certain that it will not come out within the timespan you are looking for. Neither should you take their word on it that it will. I suggest you consider the following.
1) refund it and buy it at a later date when you find that the fw has the suitable features that you need.
2) buy a cheap router and use that to handle the port fw functions, with the M2 in ip passthrough mode. (so don't use it as a router at the moment).
3) refund it, and buy a M1 instead - that is a tested and proven product that has port forwarding and everything.
Best,
A.

Any idea on when the fix will come, I've been using port forwarding with this product in the past (main reaon I got it) and now the feature has gone with the resent firmware update.
- BorimirSep 19, 2019TutorI returned my nighthawk after 4 months of BS from Telstra and Netgear. I need a static IP address and port forwarding for my business which is in a cowork, so there are some 200 businesses using the network making it a soft target if there was port forwarding on the native network. After a few months of having smoke blown up my ass by Telstra and netgear w.r.t. the port forwarding firmware, I bought a nighthawk m1 as a stop gap. I then spent several trips to the Telstra shop and paid yet more money for the IT help only to discover that There was only a pseudo-static IP that reset every time the modem was turned off rendering it useless for my purposes. Honestly, this item is a piece of **bleep** if you want it for port forwarding with a static IP. It was all I could do not to forcibly insert the nighthawk M2 into a Telstra employees anus. They’re still flogging this piece of **bleep** off to people too. I am still out of pocket from this experience and considering having a chat with ACCC.
