Re: Nighthawk M6 Verizon compatible?
Hi andyjam,
The Nighthawk M6 and M6 Pro have officially received certification from Verizon. This certification means seamless compatibility and enhanced performance with Verizon's network, providing you with a superior and reliable connectivity experience.
Please let us know if you have questions about the setup or share your experience with the device.

I'm really interested in the new Nighthawk M6 hotspots but Verizon is my cell carrier. Does anyone know if these routers are compatible with the Verizon network and, if so, how complicated it can be to set up? I've done a lot of digging around online and have found really mixed results. Any help would be much appreciated!
We recently received Verizon TA for MR6500-100PAS and MR6150-100NAS. Right now, you can purchase Verizon SIM cards from their store when you provide the device's IMEI.
But there is a tricky thing that needs handling first. Since MR6150 and MR6550 on the market were loaded with the older FW before Verizon TA. In order for the device to fully computable with Verizon network, please make sure to upgrade the device to the latest releases.
FW: 12.01.47.00
PRI: 04.11
Thanks

Re: Nighthawk M6 Verizon compatible?
Is there any chance that Verizon will allow the MR6550 to be used with their prepaid plans anytime soon? It currently appears Verizon only allows it to be used with postpaid plans.

Re: Nighthawk M6 Verizon compatible?
I have the Netgear Nighthawk M6 Pro and I initially set it up on the Verizon Prepaid Plan in December 2023 and they ended up converting it to a postpaid plan on my business account.
So, it works with Verizon on both prepaid and postpaid plans.
Verizon has the 5G Ultra wideband mmwave spectrum.
This is a fantastic device.

Hi Vincent,
Thanks for the positive feedback. I think the reason that your plan is working is because it is not a brand new SIM card.
We know we still have some issues with Verizon Pre-Paid plans, which means that if you enter MR6550 IMEI to Verizon Pre-Paid portal, there is no available plans for the device.
Thanks
John

Re: Nighthawk M6 Verizon compatible?
John:
Thank you for the reply. Are you actually with Netgear?
What issues are you having with Verizon prepaid?
What's the solution to the issue with Verizon prepaid plans?
And, just an FYI, the SIM cards have all been brand new.
I spoke with the Account Executive in the physical brick and mortar location before ordering the device to ensure it would work.
It was initially setup on a pre-paid plan which worked perfectly.
They then set it up on the postpaid business account.
The difference is/was:
Prepaid = 100GB before throttle down or adding funds for more bandwidth
Postpaid = Unlimited

I think you mentioned that you got the device and had it activated on Verizon in Dec.
We received 1 star reviews from some customers since they couldn't activate the device with Verizon prepaid plans. Verizon confirmed that this is their plan portal issue and they are working to resolve this.
Thanks
