Nighthawk questions!

I have the MR-1100 2A1NAS nighthawk. And although this is a /no contract subreddit. I figured there are a huge number of users in here and wanted to get some advice. Hopefully this is allowed! I am using it because I have no typical internet solutions and thus I found out about it through this subreddit (mainly)

1. This thing has an Ethernet port. I haven’t gotten a clean answer anywhere I’ve read on whether I can hardwire it to my computer to get as clean a signal as possible (rather than via WiFi). I would love to hard wire it to my PC and then have a WiFi mesh extender to piggy back the signal to the rest of the house.

2.Ive been running it off of a USB-c cable to a beefy anker power supply. It gets warm sometimes. I’ve been considering building a little cooking system for it. Just a fan with a way for the air to exhaust away from the unit. Thoughts? Unnecessary?
