is the Netgear airCard smart cradle any assistance in improving incoming mobile signal (in my case for a Netgear Aircard 790S) or is it only designed for maximising outgoing signal utility to make a LAN.

Hello DesignOZ

 

Yes it has 2 integrated MIMO (multiple-input and multiple-output) antennas for faster speeds over 4G LTE networks.  It also has antennas to improve the wifi performance as well. Let me know if you have any other questions on this.
