Any Benefit to using Netgear integrated Circle over the Circle v2 box?

Any Benefit to using Netgear integrated Circle over the Circle v2 box?

Hello,

I have been a long time user of Circle 1st gen and 2nd Gen hardware soluiton. I just got the Nighthawk R8000P and trying to determine if I will have any better perfomance if I move to the integrated expereince over the exteranl hardware soluiton?

I did not find that my currnent Circle v2 App would jut connect to my Nighthawk router when I turned off the Circle v2. I then hooked it up to the router via the ethernet cable option to the router. Everything is working fine again and trying to decide if it is worth the effort to swap over?

Anyone made this jump and hand better or worse perfomance? I have a lifetime subscription but I only manage local devices at my home for the moment.

Hi ChristopherC_71,

We have seen some discussion of this in the past.

Re: Any Benefit to using Netgear integrated Circle over the Circle v2 box?

Hello,

After reading through the article is appears that Netgear is still using Circle v1 and not getting the benefits of Cirvle v2 software. I am just leaving the system disabled and will continue to use my hardware box Circle v2. I got it with lifetime subscription deal right around the new year. I am a long time user of their servicve. With Home Circle Plus I have more options for mobile devices that leave the home.

Cirlce Home Wins (wish it had 1000 Mbps)

Faster connection: Circle Home Plus comes with an upgraded gigabit Ethernet port while the Circle with Disney (1st generation) device utilizes a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet port, and a 802.11 b/g/n wireless card that is limited to "Wireless N" speeds over 2.4GHz. Unlike Circle with Disney this model can handle gigabit internet speeds and should not inhibit the speed in your home.
