Netgear Nighthawk R6900P - Why are certain features "grayed-out" - like "Parental Controls"
I want to set-up parental controls. It is Circle-enabled. I am trying to connect to this router and am unble to connect with my phone with the Circl 1st Generation. Why are these areas grayed-out? My Circle App wont connect to this oruter but another router. Why? How do I connect?

What other router are you running besides the R6900P?
do you have the R6900P in AP (access point) mode? whenever you have 2 routers on a network, its best to have 1 in AP mode to prevent a doulbe nat. Problem is that in ap mode, you loose some features from the router in AP mode.

Thank you! You are correct:)
I have two R6900P routers linked in series. The first one is in AP mode and is the one with the grray-out. Before it was grayed-out, I set parental controls. Are those controls still active even though they are grayed-out? That router is used and I ant to make sure there are controls in place. Can you send me a link to why it should be set to AP mode so I can better understand the benefits?
Thank you,

Reason that you don't want 2 routers running in router mode is it causes a double nat. You'd have more than 1 device acting as dhcp server. it can cause quite a few different problems.

You only need 1 or the routers acting as router. It should go modem(whatever gateway device)--------->router in route mode------>AP (access point)
Even if you setup parental controls, when you activated AP mode, it disables them.
