R8000P & Circle
Online literature seems to suggest that the R8000P supports Circle. I’ve set up my new router but cannot get it to work.
Am I missing something? Or is Circle not supported yet?
Thanks,
Dan.

Don’t suppose you’ve got any idea when it’s due? Or if there’s a beta firmware with support?

Re: R8000P & Circle
Hi GreenYamo,
If you would like to try, I will be very happy to provide trial FW to you.
Moreover, did you use Android device or iOS ?
This function also contorled by app, not only router FW.
I suggest you keep R8000P since it's a good product to use.
Ex: Wifi coverage, stable performance....

Re: R8000P & Circle
I had an r7000p but found it to be unstable. First impressions of this router are really good. I’ve installed the Up app, and I’ve browsed through the website settings too.
It does everything I need, with the big exception of the Circle/Parental scheduling stuff. Circle worked great on the r7000p.
I’ll happily install the trial and give that a go.
Thanks for all your help.

Will the beta firmware with circle works on R7900P? I am interested in testing that out also.
Thanks!

Re: R8000P & Circle
I will be interested in the beta firmware to enable circle, I actually purchase this router today knowing the X6 support Circle and also that the X6S was better.
To realize it is not supported! So that's my only hope, or I will return it and buy an circle addons instead.

Re: R8000P & Circle
Netgear's silence is deafening here.
I've returned the router at this point. I've had issues with the 2.4ghz network dropping unexpectedly. I've also read numerous reports of instability with this router and others.
My previous experience with the R7000p, combined with this router, have put me off Netgear for a while.

Hi @DjRiDe,
Welcome to the community!
The links below may help. As it stands, the R8000P is not among the models that support Circle.

Re: R8000P & Circle
Hi i am nw to this community. I need to replace my old wndr3700 Netgear router
I was intending to replace by R8000P BUT I do need Circle for parental control.
My preference is R8000P instead of the older R8000. The R8000P is 64 bit chip architecture, and
you buy a new router for more then 1 or 2 years. So R8000P has preferences above R8000
Is there already Beta FW for the R8000P?
Is there any idea how long it will take before Circle will work with R8000P?
When the Beta FW is already there, I will buy the R8000P and i am willing to test the FW and give
feedback to the development team. (I am working in the IT industry and am used to work like this)
Greetings,
Cor

Re: R8000P & Circle
Not very sure how long you have to wait until NG really implement Circle on R8000P. Not even sure whether that option is a wise one, until NG really figure it out the very existing problem with wireless disconnection on R8000P.
Not sure whether there is a beta FW, neither.
Things are still in limbo for R8000P.
I personally acquired a used one from one of the forumers here with known fw problem to try to mess around with. So far unsuccessful due to my time restraint committing to other NG project. I will resume my task with R8000P soon.
In short, please do not expect any progress regarding Circle implementation on R's routers (except the ones already have). NG parental controls features does not fare very well, including open DNS.
My R8000 works perfectly fine, with no internet loss problem and any other problems at all, using recent older fw,
Best
Terry

Re: R8000P & Circle
Also the wifi performance seem really unstable and poor for the price. I need to reboot the router every time the Wan speed on wifi is slow and it works for a while.
So at this price, it's a total rip-off. I'm actually look to replace it a year after getting it..
Buy something else that have better review on stability.

Re: R8000P & Circle
windsaga, I would love to test this APK and FW for Circle support, if still available. The link in your post for FW is no longer functional
