Welcome to the community!
You can check and make sure that they don't have Circle installed on their devices and then go through the setup again and select the option "I'm the only admin" as described on the link below.
You can then setup a PIN lock as described here:

Great! also, when I try to change the admin password to the router I get stuck too. I know that I go to the login page but when I type in the serial number the "continue" button does not function. Could you tell me about this?

When trying to access the router UI, you should be prompted for the username and password and not the serial number. Have you tried using another device in getting to the router UI?
