Uprading to Owncloud 10

Hi,

I have the Netgear ReadyNAS 102 with firmware 6.8.  I had previosly installed owncloud from RNXtra (owncloud_9.1.3-rnx1_all.deb). It has some updates pending, I tired to run them and some error occurred and I couldnt access more to the webinterface.I see the files are still there. but i get the error:

"The requested URL /owncloud/ was not found on this server.

Apache/2.2.34 (Debian) Server at 192.168.0.101 Port 80:"

I tried to install the new owncloud 10.0.2 from RNextra, It requires the mysql instalation. I run it and it seemed to succed, there is no erorr message but there is no app icon in the app section of the interface either, so i continued with the owncloud file but it didnt work. I tried also the Nextcloud and got the sampe problem. and now there are no apps icon at all in the admin interface.

Any help how to fix it? maye i need to delete something before trying the instalation?

strangely it doesnt generate any log in install_debpkg.log.

Re: Uprading to Owncloud 10

Thanks for the logs. The problems you're having seem to come from the package "owncloud-deps-php5" - which isn't part of any owncloud or nextcloud app I made. I have no idea where this comes from or what app this belongs to. Some googling lets me believe that this is from an Ubuntu package and maybe is a left-over from an attempt to manually install from other packages?

Anyway, this particular package seems to break any install since the system tries (and fails) to install it on every install/update. So my suggestion would be to manually remove the package using "dpkg -r owncloud-deps-php5" and then try reinstalling either the OwnCloud or the NextCloud

app (or both if you like).

Re: Uprading to Owncloud 10

What version of OwnCloud did you try to upgrade from? Also what's the ReadyNAS OS revision on your NAS? The MySQL app is not needed for running/upgrading - it's now supported. I assume your problem either comes from a clash with another app or a failure during installation. Those can be found in the system's journal which you should be able to get by downloading the logs from the NAS. I'm currently on the road so my options are limited at the moment.

Re: Uprading to Owncloud 10

Hi,

i was trying to upgrade from owncloud_9.1.3-rnx1_all.deb to 10.0.2
Readynas has OS 6.8.0
I bought the mysql as in your page said it was required for that version of owncloud. Same for the nextcloud. anyway I couldnt install it.
I don't have more apps istalled. I also think it comes from a failure during the instalation. but it also happenswhen trying to install Nextcloud, that is a "clean" instalation.

I checked the logs in the Netgear admin I found something apprently from the first time I tried the instalations:

Wed Aug 30 2017 7:55:40 System: Cannot install application nextcloud.
Wed Aug 30 2017 7:53:35 Share: Share Nextcloud was added.
Wed Aug 30 2017 7:44:55 System: Cannot install application owncloud.
Wed Aug 30 2017 7:40:35 System: Found app [owncloud] with bad configuration. Disabling its configuration page.
Wed Aug 30 2017 7:39:13 System: Cannot install application mysqldb.

In the system journal here are no records on those days, the file starts like this:

-- Logs begin at Sun 2017-08-06 01:09:02 CEST, end at Thu 2017-08-31 14:20:22 CEST. --

Aug 30 11:51:19 NASPlanetON apache2[4436]: [error] [client 129.16.138.140] File does not exist: /apps/owncloud

the error of the not existing folder /apps/owncloud is repeating all the time. In fact the folder is not there anymore.

I found other logs when tring to install owncloud:

Re: Uprading to Owncloud 10

I was also havig problems with SMB connections that turned out to be a problem of the OS 6.8 version. Despite here in the forum there was information of a patch that fixed it. It didnt fix it. So i downgrade back to 6.7.5. The SMB works well there but still  unavle to make owncloud work or to install Nextcloud

Re: Uprading to Owncloud 10

Thanks that solved the issue.

I was having problems with other things after the update of the OS and I run updates from the console. I wasnt aware at the moment tat it would try to udate the owncloud also.

I will give a look to NextCloud also.
