What happened to Transmission after 6.4.2 update?

Hey guys,

have anyone experienced this that after the Firmware upgrade the Transmission app just fails to function properly?

It is responding, I can add/remove torrent files there, but the application is not starting them. In other words, the file progress stays Idle indefinately.

I saw that there's new version of transmission, so I updated it. Didn't help. Does transmission have any log file?

So my current setup:

6.4.2 OS

2.90 Transmission

any thoughts?

Thanks!

Re: What happened to Transmission after 6.4.2 update?

Hi all,

thanks for the replies, it turns out I fixed it with the simplest trick in the book --- re-install of the app. Turns out that re-config of the settings.json helped.

Now as for the update, here's what I've done:

 - trashed my current Transmission app.

 -  I've checked here: transmission_2.90-1_armel.deb and downloaded the newest 2.9 version

 - Installed it on the NAS. There's a catch, once you upload the app and the notification center tells you that transmission is installed, it isn't listed in the app dashboard.

 - I uploaded the transmissionr6_3.00.8_all.deb

 - In the Transmission site clicking Settings > About shows 2.9

Maybe you would wonder why you need two different install files for one app, I was wondering too.

Anyway, it works, and the app is updated. Everybody's happy.

Cheers

Re: What happened to Transmission after 6.4.2 update?

when you install an app on the nas it's a .deb file , this deb file can't call apt-get to install another deb package so the package for transmission is cut in too

One package for the interface on the nas

One package for transmission it-self

and only th e transmission package change each time transmission change,

To have only one package I need to submit trnasmission binary package to Netgear, each time I do a change and it takes a long time so I decide to no more submit packages to Netgear and  rather provide packages on the community dropbox I create.

Re: What happened to Transmission after 6.4.2 update?

Hi Super!

Works superb, thank you so much for all your work.

I have a question - would it be possible to create some kind of a simple web-gui for automatic to manage the feeds and filters? It's such a pain to edit everything in text.

Thank you in advance!
