remove older gcc?

Minor thing but I noticed my system has both gcc 4.7 and 4.9 installed. From the shell gcc --version shows I'm running 4.9.

I don't know if I did that manually or it happened due to a sequence of netgear upgrades, but can I remove the gcc 4.7 package? I'm a little confused how that might be tied to libc and I don't want to make a mistake.

Re: remove older gcc?

We've been using gcc 4.9 since 6.2.0.

Do you have any apps installed?

Do you have a backup of your data?

Re: remove older gcc?

Thanks...

We've been using gcc 4.9 since 6.2.0.

Do you have any apps installed?

Do you have a backup of your data?

Re: remove older gcc?

I guess you could try removing the older package if you really want to then.

Re: remove older gcc?

No problem, used "apt-get remove gcc-4.7-base". I was just being paranoid.

thanks
