Cannot 'unregister' D7000 Router from ReadyCloud
Help please!
Our D7000 has run with few problems since December 2016. Firmware currently running is V1.0.1.78.
On initial set-up, I connected a USB drive to the router and registered a ReadyShare account to allow remote connection to the USB storage. The USB storage could be accessed via ReadyShare or the IP address on our home network.
In the last month or so, I have lost File Explorer access to the USB storage. I cannot access locally via IP address or via ReadyShare. The ReadyShare shows the D7000 as a device but cannot access to show files stored.
On the other hand, DLNA access to music files does not seem to be affected and these can be streamed across the local network as before.
Over the last 6 months, there has been a Windows 10 update and the D7000 firmware was upgraded (from V1.0.1.74 previously). Otherwise the local configuration and devices are unchanged.
To try to overcome this issue by de-registering the D7000 from ReadyShare portal and resetting my ReadyShare login password. My intention had been to use the Genie console of the D7000 to 'unregister' the router from ReadyShare altogether, then to register to ReadyShare again using the reset login credentials.
The 'unregister' function does not seem to work (red 'unregistration failed' error). Has anyone had this problem and found a resolution, or is my only solution to do a factory reset and reload the current configuration? Any ideas welcome.
Thanks, Jonathan

The browser interface is a better bet.
- Basic
- ReadySHARE
- ReadyCLOUD
- "Click Unregister to register this router with a different ReadyCLOUD account
Just another user with a set of boilerplate macros.

Re: Cannot 'unregister' D7000 Router from ReadyCloud
Thanks for the feedback.
In fact, browser access to the router IP was the approach I used rather than the Genie client app. The web dashboard has a Netgear Genie heading. Same result with both Windows 10 PC and older Windows 7 laptop. Could not unregister the router.
I have taken config setting backup and screenshots of current configuration, and downloaded firmware for V1.0.1.64 and V1.0.1.78 in readiness for a factory reset. My ISP's router is currently substituted (TT Huawel HG635) for the D7000 to make sure I have a functioning regression path before doing the factory reset.
Hopefully this will re-establish ReadyShare functionality on the D7000.

Re: Cannot 'unregister' D7000 Router from ReadyCloud
Hello again,
I managed to do the factory reset and re-loaded clean V1.0.1.78 firmware downloaded from the Netgear web site. I could not load my configuration file settings so had to re-configure settings manually.
The modem/router seems has been working and stable over several days. I now have local ReadyShare access to USB storage again, so this is a first step.
However, with the router reset I cannot now 'register' the D7000 to ReadyCloud for remote access (error message 'Registration failed'). I tried over several days with router re-boots but get the same error. My ReadyCloud web account simply indicates no devices registered.
Could the problem to 'unregister' and now to 'register' with ReadyCloud be a problem with V1.0.1.78? I am a bit reluctant to spend time regressing to V1.0.1.64 firmware if I still cannot enable ReadyCloud again.
I have local USB storage access on my Huawei HG635 which does not seem to have these configuration issues.
Any ideas?
Thanks, Jon
