D6200 wired connection fails but wireless is ok

D6200 router-ethernet connection failed tonight, I was about 80% into downloading a file at the time.

Wireless is fine (!!???)

Nothing apparently wrong in the settings, all the devices are shown in attached devices, I can even ping both PCs.

When I try to connect I can get a web-page but as soon as I clik a link the connection fails.  When I go into network settings it just spins forever (that's like the egg-timer in Windows).

I have tried rebooting the router on the diagnostic page, I've also done this manually by switching it off and back on again.

The two PCs run on linux (mint 17) but both have the same problem, it is definitely the router.

I'm typing this on a macbook wirelessly.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Hello Mike 

Have you tried to do a factory reset on the modem if so and your still having these issues you may want to contact netgear phone support. If the modem is faulty and still under warranty phone support should be able to replace it for you.
