D7000 1.58 Beta Firmware

Starting a new thread on this because its unclear to me in the other discussion thread who is on this beta firmware and having problems/not having problems.

If you are  are on an earlier firmware version - I would suggest posting in the other thread or reading it as there are details there on how to get 1.58_1.01

Re: D7000 1.58 Beta Firmware

Just to get the ball rolling on this - I have been running with this firmware for 66 hours without having to restart anything - however I still have quite a number of devices running on a different router - since when I was debugging the 2.4 Ghz issue on the Nighthawk

You notice any brief disconnects and reconnects when streaming?

Re: D7000 1.58 Beta Firmware

A very brief summary of my V58 experience for this new discussion thread.

08 Jan 2018

21:15 downloaded and installed FW V58.

11 Jan 2018

07:08 still all good. Reached 57+ hours.

09:00 All devices shown as connected to 5G cannot access the internet!

Various 2.4G and 5G ups and downs during 11/12 Jan fixed by either WiFi switch off/on or D7000 reboot or remote turn on by Netgear engineers.

Finally on 12 Jan 14:15 reset again with WiFi switch.

14 Jan 2018

06:49 Still all good at around 40 hours uptime.

The Netgear engineers have TeamViewed in to PC 6 times since 3 Jan and the last two times were in V58.

During the V58 time I had trouble with a Netgear WN300RP WiFi extender which was overcome by one of the reboots, so this might be "user error"! The other problem was the installation during V58 test of a Google Home Mini. Netgear intent to add one of these to their test lab environment to see if it is an issue. The Google Home Mini has been removed from my D7000 environment for the remainder of the V58 testing.

A side issue emerged during this and that is that the D7000 GUI Genie did not show the IP addresses of all connected devices. The windows program Genie also did not display all connected devices in the Network Map . The driver/system engineers are to refer this to the genie engineer team on Monday.

Re: D7000 1.58 Beta Firmware

Further to my D7000 V58 summary earlier (in AEDT)

14 Jan 2018

06:49 All good for around 40 hours up time

09:27 All dead:

PC on Ethernet connection displays “No Internet access” and cannot access D7000 (192.168.0.1).

5G iPad shows connected to 5G SSID but cannot connect to internet.

Laptop can see 2.4G SSID but displays “Can’t connect to this network”.

Huawei 2.4G showed SSID as disabled although WiFi turned on, clicked on SSID and display changes to “Saved”.

Cannot save log as D7000 not accessible from Ethernet, 2.4G and 5G.

D7000 Internet and DSL LEDs both white.

09:40 Rebooted D7000 and all Ethernet, 2.4G and 5G reconnected automatically.

Re: D7000 1.58 Beta Firmware

Probably not a lot of help but both V57 and V58 have been rock solid for me. Only issue is there Concentrix spam filter rejects my emails so I can’t tell the Netgear engineered!

Re: D7000 1.58 Beta Firmware

Hi to all.

Preamble: I use the D7000 as a router, 'cause I have the ISP modem/router in use as modem. I prefer to manage all my network by the D7000 or otherwise with a mine own router.

I tried the .58 firmware, but here is the chronicle:
After installing, no connection to internet. Rebooted the router an it's ok.
After 48h, crash of WiFi. Sure the 5GHz, but unsure about 2,4GHz 'cause i needed the WiFi connection soon as possible. (no time to check the 2,4GHz).

After this reboot, about an hour and crash again. Rebooted.

After this last reboot, less than half hour another crash.

At this point, I turnet off the D7000, disconnect all the ethernet ports, and replaced it with a Mikrotik hAC Lite, 'cause I'm very bored to reboot the D7000 every hour.

I put away the D7000 waiting for a real solution to this issue.

I apologize if I can't give my support to the reserch the solution, but I need to have my network efficient.

How are you using the D7000? Access Point? Router?

Ignore that. There are other recipients who would have got your emails.

@michaelkenward

To manage all my network, I used it as router, of course.

The connection to internet was made by PPPoE.

Re: D7000 1.58 Beta Firmware

Hi - have been running with this firmware for quite a while now.

I noticed that some devices were disconnecting but would reconnect )specifically windows 10 pcs with chrome connected to the 5Ghz or 2.4 Ghz networks) - other than that was happy with this working.

However as part of my efforts pre-this firmware I had moved some devices off of it.

(i.e. my Chromecast connected - or Amazon echos or nest thermostat) and was just using it as a router.

Anyway - moved one of my Amazon echos back onto it today - and now TP-Link sensors and wemo links are disconnected again.

The issue with this D7000  is not just Google Home.

And 1.58 isn't sufficient - at least in my case.
