If "spark fibre" means that you now have "fibre internet" your DSL modem will not work. It uses different technology.
You can still use your D7000 as a router.
There is support for the D7000, including a manual, somewhere at the end of this link:
>>> D7000 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<
See the section Set Up the Modem Router for Cable or Fiber Service.
But you should check to see if the ISP's modem is also a router. If so, that may take some more tweaking.

"D7000" or "D7000v2"? Look at the product label.

DSL to something else, or what?

What's that?

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation. Get the User Manual. Read. Look for "Set
Up the Modem Router for Cable or Fiber Service".
Sadly, the D7000v2 User Manual is lousy with errors, especially in
parts relevant to this, so, if that's your model, then you may need to
do some reasoning as well as reading. The D7000[v1] User Manual might
be helpful, too. (The D7000[v1] actually does have the "red Internet
port" mentioned in the D7000v2 User Manual, for example.)

Re: D7000 Modem setup with no internet connection
You might want to consider posting in the right forum for your product, https://community.netgear.com/t5/DSL-Modems-Routers/bd-p/home-dsl-modems-routers. Some in that forum with similar experience might be able to help you? This forum is specifically for Netgear Wifi Routers.
